RULES

  1. Eligibility

ACS Hacks is open only to students from Assumption College Catholic High School.

  1. Team Size

Teams may have 1–4 students. Solo participants are also allowed.

  1. Build During the Hackathon

Projects should be started during ACS Hacks on June 10. Students may brainstorm ideas before the event, but the main building and development work should happen during the hackathon.

  1. Original Work

All submissions must be created by the team submitting them. Plagiarism is not allowed.

  1. Use of Existing Tools

Students may use libraries, APIs, frameworks, tutorials, starter templates, open-source resources, and AI tools. However, teams must clearly explain what they built themselves and give credit where appropriate.

  1. School-Appropriate Projects

All projects must be appropriate for a school environment. Projects must not include harmful, offensive, unsafe, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.

  1. Respectful Behaviour

All participants must treat others with respect. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, inappropriate language, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.

  1. Follow School Rules

Participants must follow all Assumption College Catholic High School rules, staff instructions, and event organizer directions throughout ACS Hacks.

  1. Submissions

Projects must be submitted through Devpost before the submission deadline to be eligible for judging and prizes.

  1. Judging

Projects will be judged based on creativity, technical effort, usefulness, design, and presentation quality. Judges’ decisions are final.

  1. Ask for Help

If a team is unsure whether something is allowed, they should ask an organizer before submitting.

CODE OF CONDUCT

ACS Hacks is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, beginner-friendly, and inclusive environment for all students, mentors, judges, sponsors, and organizers.

Everyone is expected to be respectful, supportive, and professional during the event. Participants should encourage each other, work honestly, and help make the hackathon a positive experience for everyone.

Any participant who violates these rules or the code of conduct may be removed from the event or made ineligible for prizes.
